Parts & Labor: Stay Afraid (Jagjaguwar)

This album explodes out of the gates like an enraged rhinoceros. Pummeling drums, raging guitars, and fucked up keyboards exploding out of the mix like a supernova. Unfortunately, the vocals kill it for me. While the lyrical content leans to the political side and are quite thoughtful, the delivery sounds strained and blown out in a bad way. Other than that, I think this band, and this debut album, is a raging inferno of destructive goodness. (www.partsandlabor.net, www.jagjaguwar.com)
