One would be forgiven for hearing icy detachment in a cursory audition of Chloé's new record, her first in seven years, but upon closer inspection, there's actually a vulnerable, meditative tenderness to Endless Revisions. Should you feel a chill, it's probably the cool of experimental rigor: the album's best moments crib minimalist thrusts from the Glass/Reich playbook and wed them to dancefloor thump, occasionally veering off that bumpy road towards even more abstract vistas. Chloé could have safely strayed even further from techno orthodoxy and pleased these ears, but Endless Revisions at least points down an adventurous path. (
