Brooklyn-based bassist Nicholas Cummins found temporary homes in PWR BTTM and Fern Mayo before forming Fits with friends last summer. Their bass-driven melodic ideas and vocal samples eventually turned into fully realized punk constructs-all succinct, all catchy as hell. One year after lead single “Crush” turned in-the-know heads, Fits’ debut LP, All Belief is Paradise, is filled with tunes just as arresting. Fits is also an apt moniker for an outfit that packs surprisingly resonant ideas inside 90-second compositions (or less). Don’t skip the moody “Drop Thistle” or jangly reflections of “Running Out.” (www.hahafits.bandcamp.com)
