Initially created as downloadable content for Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST grew into what would become its own game. Mystery and investigation are elements that are amped up and brought to the fore here, but not to worry, you'll still be able to run around and shoot things. Unfortunately, there are a few times where the game is so mysterious that you won't know what to do or where to go. The game is much shorter than Halo 3, but in a weird way is more cinematic than its predecessor. A top-notch voice cast helps-and also acts as a Firefly/Serenity tribute and reunion, with Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, and Alan Tudyk all lending their pipes to the mission. Geeks will also recognize the voice of Cylon babe Tricia Helfer. The multiplayer portion of the package is where the game truly shines, but a lackluster campaign and an overly high price tag make this for Halo fans only. (www.halo.xbox.com)
