Loose Gravel, the self-published debut novel from Ginny Fanthome, tells the story of Spooge, a punk band that crisscrosses the country trying to make a name for itself in seedy bar after seedy bar. Setting aside the exaggeratedly hyperbolic punk band names that pepper the tale, Loose Gravel is more than just the story of some fictitious punk band. It is a road story, something of a punk rock On the Road, that digs deep into the character development of its actors. There’s Sam, the fiery drummer and band mother-type who holds everything together. There’s Lion, the hard-headed sometimes beau of Sam. There’s Steve, the band’s singer, an Indian young man coming to terms with his sexuality. And there’s Markus, a character better known for his womanizing ways than any particular instrumental prowess. Fanthome’s story is well paced, and the reader will find him or herself connecting more with the characters as their humanity is further exposed with each successive chapter. All crammed in a rundown van, Sam, Lion, Steve, and Markus sail down the road in search of adventure and a modicum of fame, encountering all manner of obstacles along the way. What they end up finding is each other. (https://ginnyfbooks.myshopify.com)

Ginny Fanthome is one of my favorite authors. His all novels are worth reading! but this loose gravel has something unique from its other novels and it is quite different from the normal traditional novels too!
