Palmist’s new split 12” features selections from two forthcoming full-lengths from other labels. On the A-side, you’ll find “Remember Our Days” and “Out of Touch,” two demos from a planned Kranky release, the sophomore album from Deerhunter guitarist Lockett Pundt’s Lotus Plaza project. Both tracks are decidedly more optimistic and upbeat than most of his debut, The Floodlight Collective, but still feature the same beautiful, hazy nostalgia that has colored most of his solo work. These songs are an exciting taste of what could be a real breakthrough for a criminally underrated act.

On the B-side, we are treated to four new tunes from Dean Tzenos’ Odonis Odonis moniker. Steeped in danceable industrial sounds and referencing The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Cure, and Pixies, these tracks are slated to be included on the Soft Boiled Hard Boiled LP in April 2012 from FatCat. Check out “Mr. Smith” and “Angus Mountain.” (www.palmistrecords.com)
