Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. If you like dreamy synthpop, this is the album you’ve been waiting for. Even Postiljonen‘s breakup songs give sensual shrugs of commanding confidence. And whatever way the romance is going, most of these tunes are pulling you straight for the dance floor and won’t take “no” for an answer. Mia Brox’s vocals wrap you up in lovelinesslisten to her delivery of the line “maybe I could be the one you like” on album highlight “Are You Thinking of Me” and luxuriate in those shivers of sheer delight. The music itself, whilst winking back at the ‘80s (especially OMD with its warm major keys), is firmly planted in the now. Repeated listens offer new reasons why each particular song should be kept on repeat, but “You’re Ace” and “L.I.E.” are the two that grab you immediately. Both joyous in their own way, “You’re Ace” conjures the most romantic daydreams-“I wanna waste time with you baby, listen up/I said, it’s you I’m waiting for, I wanna drift away with you honey/Oh, to a place where no one knows we’ve gone”while the latter sways to the other side of the spectrum. “Lovin’ isn’t easy/I’m tired of you wanting something more.” Reverie is the perfect name for this recordso easy to get lost in, and there’s so much worth treasuring here.
