Don’t let the fact that Running Wilde is created by Arrested Development’s creator or the fact that is stars Keri Russell (Felicity) and Will Arnett (Arrested Development, 30 Rock) lure you into watching this disposable show. As Steven Wilde, Arnett is a wholly unsympathetic rich guy who acts like a petulant child that although he has everything, wants everything everyone else has. As his childhood sweetheart and the daughter of his former housekeeper, Emmy Kadubic, Russell’s do-gooder, save the Earth character makes you want to save the Earth—and her daughter, Puddle—from her. In an attempt to stop Wilde from expanding his oil company into the rainforest where the tribe she is living with resides, Emmy attends his awards ceremony and ends up moving in with him. Running Wilde strips Russell and Arnett of any charms they previously had. Running Wilde’s only saving grace is the underrepresented Puddle (Stefania Owen), but she is nowhere near enough to draw you in. The struggling storyline, clumsy performances, and underdeveloped characters will make you want to run wildly away from this program. (www.fox.com/runningwilde)
