This volume collects the first couple of miniseries in which the Perhapanauts appeared, originally published by Dark Horse. The characters—which include a smart and spiritual bigfoot, a psychic, and a ghost—are agents of BEDLAM, an organization dedicated to keeping the world safe from weird creatures. The book is full of adventure, fun team dynamics, and stories that seamlessly oscillate between silly and high stakes. Perhapanauts is good old comics gussied up in far less tacky clothing. The supernatural and sci-fi elements are wholly enjoyable; the characters are charmingly original, if slightly one-note in some cases (Choopie the chubacabra is fun, but a little overused). Some of the character interaction is clunky as well, but the overall plot threads, core strength of the character concepts (especially side characters such as Karl the Mothman), and nice cartooning make this a fine book.
