The Rogers Sisters: The Invisible Deck
(Too Pure)
I was a fan of The Rogers Sisters’ debut Purely Evil. It
was a raw, engaging, garage rock album full of fury. The Invisible
Deck is a much more restrained, polished gem. The songs are definitive
and proportioned, never going on too long or cutting out before hitting
their stride. Miyuki Furtado’s and Jennifer Rogers’ singing
has evolved and on the songs where they both sing they are simply glistening.
The eight-minute closer “Sooner or Later” is a dark, textured
beast that is utterly awesome! This is simply a much more complicated,
evolved album that leaves its predecessor in the dust. (www.therogerssisters.com)
