Yesterday on social media The Postal Service teased that something was coming today. Calm down, no it’s not a long awaited new album from Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis. Huey Lewis & The News’ heyday may have been in the 1980s, but they probably still get some exposure to the youth of today via parents who grew up in the ‘80s and are now showing Back to the Future to their kids (which prominently featured the band’s hits written for the film: “The Power of Love” and “Back in Time”). Not content to remain a nostalgia act, however, the band have released their first new original song in 11 years, “Her Love Is Killin’ Me,” and announced plans to release a new album in 2020 via BMG.
