Sweden’s Amason have shared a new song, the slow-burner “You Don’t Have to Call Me.” It’s the first single from their upcoming new album, which a press release says is due out this August. They have also done a P3 Session (a Norwegian radio program on NRK P3) where they perform “You Don’t Have to Call Me” and “Ålen,” with the latter song morphing into a cover of Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All the Stars,” from the Black Panther soundtrack. More

This morning the nominations for the 2019 Academy Awards were announced. Two music-related films were nominated for Best Picture: Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star Is Born. Rami Malek was nominated for playing Freddie Mercury in the former and Lady Gaga was nominated for her performance in the latter. Lady Gaga was also nominated for Best Original Song for “Shallow” from A Star Is Born and Kendrick Lamar was among the nominees for the song “All the Stars,” from Black Panther. More

The early reviews for Black Panther, the latest Marvel Comics blockbuster, are through the roof. It’s currently got a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and an 87 on Metacritic, with critics raving that it’s a comic book movie with more on its mind than just epic superhero fights. The movie is due out February 16. Kendrick Lamar has done the soundtrack, Black Panther: The Album, which is due out this Friday (February 9) via Interscope. More
