Yesterday, U2’s Bono & The Edge performed a surprise concert in Lyiv, Ukraine at a bomb shelter inside of a subway station. They performed the songs “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “Angel Of Harlem,” “With Or Without You,” and “Desire.” They also performed a cover of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” with Taras Topolya, a Ukrainian soldier and member of the band Antytila. More

On Friday we reported (via Billboard) that Eagles of Death Metal would be joining U2 in Paris at one of their two shows, either last night or tonight. Then yesterday U2 said Eagles of Death Metal were not performing with them and last night indeed they didn’t (Patti Smith was the guest instead). Details of the singer’s injuries are now being reported, and according to Dean Lorich, the surgeon who treated Bono, his injuries were severe and he will require “intensive and progressive therapy,” though he is expected to make a full recovery.
