2010 Sasquatch! Festival Lineup Announced
Acts Include Pavement, Massive Attack, My Morning Jacket, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, LCD Soundsystem, The National, Band of Horses, and More
Feb 16, 2010 Pavement
The 2010 Sasquatch! Music Festival lineup thankfully isn’t a mystery anymore. The initial list of bands to play at Quincy, WA’s bucolic Gorge can be peeped below. The event returns for its ninth year May 29-31 (Memorial Day Weekend) and the recently reunited Pavement, trip-hop progenitors Massive Attack, and reverb-y Southern rockers My Morning Jacket will headline.
Other Under the Radar-friendly artists set to play include Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Tegan & Sara, LCD Soundsystem, Broken Social Scene, The National, Band of Horses, Passion Pit, The Hold Steady, The New Pornographers, She & Him, Camera Obscura, Midlake, Drive-By Truckers, The Mountain Goats, Dirty Projectors, The xx, and many others.
Festival curator Adam Zacks founded the event way back in 2002, but he still hand-picks every artist and the eclectic nature of Sasquatch! bears that out. In recent years, the festival has taken strides to include more hip-hop/rap acts, as evidenced by appearances by Public Enemy, Kid Cudi, Wale, Brother Ali, and Fresh Espresso this year. This should be applauded since many multiple-day festivals are extremely weak in that area.
Over at the Comedy/Dance tent, The Office‘s Craig Robinson and The Daily Show‘s Rob Riggle will sling some punch lines with some local comedic upstarts. DJ/electronic acts include: Simian Mobile Disco, deadmau5, Passion Pit, Caribou, Booka Shade, YACHT, A-Trak, Boys Noize, Neon Indian, Dâm-Funk, Miike Snow, and Z-Trip. Basically, just peruse the list below and get ready to do a lot of walking between the venue’s four stages.
Tickets are available at sasquatchfestival.com and Ticketmaster. They’re on sale Saturday, February, 20th at 10 a.m. PST. A discounted three-day pass at $170 is only available during the sale weekend. Stay tuned to the fest’s official site for more details.
