After their original date was scrubbed due to last month’s Icelandic volcano explosion (as host David Letterman was quick to point out) Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings performed the title track off their new album I Learned the Hard Way on Letterman. After the performance, Letterman presented Jones with a bouquet of flowers in honor of her birthday. We have the video.

As reported by LA Weekly, former Pink Floyd leader Roger Waters paid street artists to promote his upcoming tour by posting a Dwight Eisenhower quote in strategic locations. Clever marketing, right? That is, until one street artist defaced the Elliott Smith memorial wall. He has now responded to the incident.

The New Pornographers’ new album, Together, hit stores today and to promote its release the Canadian collective have released a new video for single “Your Hands (Together).” The video was directed by the band’s own Blaine Thurier, who already has experience directing independent feature films. The clip has no plot, but features a bunch of folks doing choreographed karate in time with the music (the band makes no appearance). We have the video.

Big Star Documentary Needs Your Help

The producers of Nothing Can Hurt Me: The Big Star Story, a documentary about the beloved 1970s power pop band Big Star, need help to finish their film.
