alt-J Debut New Technology Designed to Discourage Mobile Recording of Live Shows

Over the past several years mobile phones have made it easier and easier for concert-goers to record their favorite moments of a given show. Not all musical artists are particularly fond of this growing practice, feeling that the act does nothing more than take away from the live experience and serve as a distraction for other people in attendance.
Whichever side you may find yourself on in this debate, recent Mercury Prize winners alt-J may have introduced a solution to appease both sides, debuting a new app at their Brixton Academy show last night called Soundhalo. Developed by the band the app offers almost instantaneous live audio and visual recordings of songs after they are played live. Combining the mastered audio from the venue’s sound desk with images shot by an available video team, each track from the setlist is uploaded into the cloud and made available to purchase around the same price of a MP3.

I have never done any recording of live shows. It just doesn’t feel right invading other people’s privacy.

this is the best… simple to utilize.. once introduced when you make or get calls, when the call is dynamic there will be an alternative appeared in the screen. spare call or not on the off chance that you don’t need to record, then don’t do anything or press NO, on the off chance that you need to record, then squeeze OK and this product won’t make that disturbing beep sound and you can record boundless as indicated by your memory limit

The truth must be told, I’m a novice of this before now. Although, I once did a live record with a friend but that was by virtue of mistake. I hate doing things without privacy, so, that may be the reason why live recording isn’t a big deal to me.
