Annie Signs to Smalltown Supersound, Preps New Album
Sophomore Album Don’t Stop Out November 17th
Norwegian electro-pop poster-girl Annie has just announced that her sophomore album, Don’t Stop, is due out November 17th on Smalltown Supersound.
Influenced by the French pop of Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Fontaine, the singer calls her new outting, “pop with strange edges.” Providing some of those edges—or at least a catchy guitar hook to “My Love Is Better,” is Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos.
Also teaming Annie is her debut album Anniemal’s production team, Timo Kaukolampi and Richard X. Additional production is provided by Paul Epworth, who has previously worked with Bloc Party, Primal Scream, The Rapture, and Florence and the Machine.
