Fresh off their Grammy win for Album of the Year—which nearly caused a Twitter meltdown as a result of angry and/or confused tweeters—Arcade Fire is heading on the road for a full U.S. tour. Although some shows, like the headlining slot at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in April, have previously been announced, Arcade Fire confirmed the remaining leg of its North American tour. The new batch of shows kicks off April 9 in Denver and closes at New Orlean’s Jazz and Heritage Festival May 6, with the indie rockers as the surpising headliners.

Los Angeles favorites Local Natives will be opening several shows for the newly crowned Grammy winners. The National, Explosions in the Sky, and Okkervil River—who are headling Under the Radar‘s Friday party at Austin’s SXSW fest in March—are also among the acts opening for Arcade Fire at various shows throughout their tour.

In addition to these confirmed U.S. tour dates, Arcade Fire also announced earlier this week their headlining slot at the 2011 Bonnaroo Festival in June. With a full road trip that spans from the West Coast to the South ahead of them, it looks like those angry and/or confused tweeters will soon find the answer to their headscratching status updates:“Who is Arcade Fire?”
