Arcade Fire and Preservation Hall Jazz Band Team Up for New Song “Ann Ale! (Let’s Go!)”

In Honor of Win Butler and Régine Chassagne's Krewe du Kanaval Event in New Orleans

Feb 05, 2018 RAM

Arcade Fire‘s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne have teamed up with Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Haitian group RAM for a new song, “Ann Ale! (Let’s Go!).” The song has been shared in honor of Krewe du Kanaval, a one-day event in New Orleans tomorrow founded by Butler and Chassagne that’s a Haitian carnival of sorts that features performances from everyone involved in the song, among others. All proceeds from Krewe du Kanaval with benefit the Preservation Hall Foundation and KANPE, which is a nonprofit cofounded by Chassagne. Check out the song below, via Pitchfork.

Arcade Fire released a new album, Everything Now, last July via Columbia. They previously shared a video for the album’s title track, “Everything Now,” announced a tour, and shared a funny fake cereal ad/teaser video for another song from the album, “Creature Comfort,” as well as a full on video for “Creature Comfort” and an annotated version of the “Creature Comfort” video. Then there were videos for two other new songs, “Signs of Life” and “Electric Blue.” Frontman Win Butler was also the celebrity guest on NPR’s news quiz show Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me. They also covered John Lennon’s “Mind Games” for Spotify. They also shared a demo version of “Put Your Money On Me.”
