Arcade Fire are releasing a new album, Everything Now, on July 28 via their new label Columbia. They have previously shared a video for the album’s title track, “Everything Now,” announced a tour, and shared a funny fake cereal ad/teaser video for another song from the album, “Creature Comfort,” as well as a full on video for “Creature Comfort.” Now they have shared a new annotated version of the “Creature Comfort” video, kind of like the old pop up videos on VH1. Various silly and fake facts come up on the screen, such as that “the keytar was invented in 1453… over 200 years before the invention of the piano!” Or that “Win Butler was born on the same day the Titanic sank… Abraham Lincoln was shot… and the McRib was introduced.” Watch the new version of the video below.

Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter and Pulp’s Steve Mackey produced Everything Now with the band, with co-production by Markus Dravus. The album was recorded in three different countries: at Boombox Studios in New Orleans, Sonovox Studios in Montreal, and Gang Recording Studio in Paris. It will be released on CD, cassette, and heavyweight black vinyl LP, as well as digitally. The vinyl version “will feature 20 different artwork variants, each bearing the album title in one of 20 different languages.”

In January Arcade Fire released a brand new song, “I Give You Power,” that featured the guest vocals of soul legend and civil rights activist Mavis Staples. Its release the day before President Donald Trump’s inauguration was probably no accident, especially as all proceeds from the song are being donated to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The tracklist for the album hasn’t been released yet, so there’s no word on whether or not “I Give You Power” is on the album. The band’s last full-length was 2013’s Reflektor.
