Will Butler
Continuing his goal of writing and recording a brand new song each day this week using the news stories printed in The Guardian newspaper for inspiration, Arcade Fire‘s Will Butler has premiered a brand new track titled “Waving Flag.” Drawing from articles about anti-apartheid figure Moses Kotane and Ukranian separatists celebrating Defender of the Fatherland Day, Butler expalins that the “song about backward-looking violent nationalism contrasting with future-looking lift-up-the-weak nationalism. And then there’s me, a million miles away in America, watching from a great and blurring distance.” Click below to listen.
In addition to the song Butler has extended his upcoming tour in support of his debut solo album Policy. Scroll down below to view the update list of shows.
