Album in August, Tour in September

Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti
In late August, Ariel Pink plans to release his follow up to previous album, 2010’s Before Today. As reported by Spin, the Los Angeles musician is looking to change it up from his lo-fi origins. “In a sense, it’s really the record I wanted to make back when I made Before Today, but couldn’t due to pressures and different factors,” he said. “We had time to let our hair down and try new things… I’m not making too many stylistic changes… I’m not making dubstep. I’m doing everything the way I always do it: retro-licious, for lack of a better word.”
Pink hopes to take the new material on the road this September, with James Ferraro and DâM-FunK supporting. He added to Spin—perhaps a tad optimistically—“I think all the hipsters who came to all of our shows as teenagers have grown up now. Hopefully they can afford it.”
