Animal Collective member Avey Tare (aka David Michael Portner) has announced a new album, Cows on Hourglass Pond, and shared a video for its first single, “Saturdays (Again).” He has also announced some tour dates. Cows on Hourglass Pond is due out March 22 via Domino. Check out the “Saturdays (Again)” video below, followed by the album’s tracklist and cover art, as well as the tour dates. He’s also shared a short story video, which is below too.

Cows on Hourglass Pond is the follow-up to 2017’s Eucalyptus. Cows on Hourglass Pond was recorded by Portner between January and March 2018 at Laughing Gas in Asheville, NC. It was recorded on a Tascam 48 half-inch reel-to-reel tape machine. Then Portner and Adam McDaniel mixed the album at Drop of Sun in Asheville, NC. Portner’s sister, Abby Portner, directed the “Saturdays (Again)” video.

Abby Portner had this to say about the video in a press release: “For the ‘Saturdays (Again)’ video I wanted to try and create what it would look like inside Avey Tare’s new record cover, if you were to step inside and hang out with Dave and the cows in a surreal, colorful landscape. Since I did parts of the record art and paintings in the press photos, I wanted it to all be included inside this video.”
