Following his breakthrough 2010 debut Cerulean, California electronic pop artist Will Wiesenfeld, a.k.a. Baths, has announced his latest full-length effort Obsidian. In an interview with Pitchfork earlier this year Wiesenfeld described the new record as being a “darker” affair, partially brought on after a debilitating bout contracting E. coli. According to Wiesenfeld “I spent weeks on end just waking up and not moving, trying to get to the couch, and then spending two hours on the couch, going to the bathroom, and getting in my bed again. And then trying to eat a slice of bread. It was so bad.”
Down below you can listen to one of Obsidian‘s included tracks “Miasma Sky.” Over the next two months Baths will likely be premiering much more of the new record on the road, which will include a high-profile opening slot for The Postal Service in April.
