Beatles Remastered Catalog Available September
Apr 08, 2009
The Beatles
In conjunction with the release of the Beatles’ edition of Rock Band, Apple Corps Ltd. and EMI Music will be releasing the Beatles’ entire original recorded catalog in remastered CD format, complete with original UK release tracklistings and artwork. Booklets will be expanded. Photos will be rare. Mini-documentaries will be plenty.
As one might imagine, the remastering process was executed with the utmost care and attention to detail to bring the world all 12 albums in stereo. De-noising technology and limiting was kept to a minimum and most of the project aimed to preserve the original recordings. A second 12-disc box set was also created for the collector of the mono recordings as well.
Additional historical and recording notes were provided by Kevin Howlett (award-winning radio producer, BBC) and Mike Heatley (EMI Records). Bob Smeaton and Julian Caiden handled the directing and editing of the mini-documentaries, respectively.
The enormous task of engineering was taken on by Guy Massey, Steve Rooke, Paul Hicks, Sean Magee, Sam Okell, and Simon Gibson, under coordination by Allan Rouse. All have had extensive background with Beatles projects.
The slated release date is September 9, 2009.
