Beck
Remember last year, when we got all excited that Beck was about to release his first album since 2008’s Modern Guilt…and it turned out to be a collection of sheet music called Song Reader? Yeah…we try not to think about it either. But there’s some good news. Well now, we can finally put down our guitars.
The Lord God King of the Losers is heading to London. There, on July 4, he’ll be joined by all his famous pals who will help him bring Song Reader to life. Spin lists the guest list as including: Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker, Franz Ferdinand, and Beth Orton, along with Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joan as Police Woman, Villagers’ Conor J O’Brien, The Staves, the Guillemots, Michael Kiwanuka, James Yorkston, and the Pictish Trail. Ed Harcourt and David Coulter will provide musical direction.

I heard that the price of sugar was going up. I did my weekly suevry on Monday of this week, and just got back from the store. I checked the sugar price and found the store brand had gone up from $2.09, to $3.19 in just a couple of days. I might need to starve my sweet tooth sooner rather than later!
