Finally! After announcing a new full-length is in the works last month, Beirut (the band, not the Lebanese capital) will be unleashing a new single Monday, June 6, according to blog Disco Naïveté. Single “East Harlem” will be released on frontman Zach Condon’s label, Pompeii, and backed by an additional track titled “Goshen.” Both “Goshen” and “East Harlem” have been performed live (check out the video of “East Harlem” in concert in 2009 below). Hopefully the release of “East Harlem” means there’s more good news in store; although Beirut is reportedly releasing their new full-length this summer, a release date has yet to be set.

The song “Goshen,” as well as three other new songs were performed during Beirut’s mini tour last month, including at their date at the Wellmont Theater. “Goshen” can be heard/watched here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YtfnEpYxT0&feature=channel_video_title
