Bill Murray has a Christmas special, A Very Murray Christmas, coming on Netflix December 4. The project reteams him with his Lost in Translation director Sofia Coppola, who directs the special and co-wrote it with Murray and Mitch Glazer. The special features a star-studded cast, including Under the Radar favorites Jenny Lewis and Phoenix (whose Thomas Mars is married to Coppola). Now it’s been announced that on December 4 Phoenix and Bill Murray are teaming up to release a Christmas song, “Alone on Christmas Day.” It’ll be released as a 7-inch and the song also features A Very Murray Christmas cast members Jason Schwartzman, Paul Shaffer, and Buster Poindexter (aka New York Dolls’ David Johansen). The B-side is an instrumental version of the track.

The cast of A Very Murray Christmas also includes George Clooney, Amy Poehler, Julie White, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, Frederic Moulin, Rashida Jones, and Miley Cyrus. A Very Murray Christmas is as an homage to classic variety shows. Murray plays himself as he hosts a TV show, but is worried no one will show up due to a big snow storm. Check out the teaser trailer below.
