Bloc Party Announce New EP, “The Nextwave Sessions”
Out Aug. 13
Jun 25, 2013
Bloc Party
Bloc Party have announced that they will follow last year’s Four with a new EP titled The Nextwave Sessions. Shaped on the road during their worldwide tour last year the new five-song collection will see release on Aug. 13 via Frenchkiss.
The EP’s first two tracks “Ratchet” and “Obscene” were recorded with producer Dan Carey, who has worked alongside Bat for Lashes, Chairlift, and Franz Ferdinand. “‘Ratchet’ was the first song we recorded with Dan. It really came together whilst we were on tour in 2012,” says frontman Kele Okereke. “We started slipping it into the sets at the start of this year just to try it out and the reactions were insane. We knew we had something special.”
