Blood Orange‘s Devonté Hynes has teamed up with New Zealand’s Connan Mockasin and just released a collaborative three song EP, Marfa Myths 001. Below you can listen to “Feelin’ Lovely.”
The two came together when they played the Marfa Myths festival last March in Marfa, Texas, which was put on Mockasin’s label Mexican Summer. The duo worked together and created original compositions, recording the week before the festival, which are now featured on the EP. The other two songs on the EP are “La Fat Fur” and “Big Distant Crush.”
On March 10-13, 2016 Marfa Myths will return with such performers as Dungen, Parquet Courts, No Age, Sheer Mag, Quilt, Raum, Awesome Tapes From Africa, William Basinski, and Emitt Rhodes (his first live performance since 1973). Natalie Mering (aka Weyes Blood) will team up with a collaborator who will be revealed at the festival.
