Blur May Record New Album in Hong Kong
Have A Week to Kill China

Britpop icons Blur may potentially lay down some new material for an upcoming album, according to frontman Damon Albarn. While playing a show at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo last night, Albarn addressed the crowd at one point saying, “So we have a week in Hong Kong, and we thought it would be a good time to try and record another record.” The band was originally due to move on to Japan this week, but those shows were inevitably postponed, apparently freeing up some time to kill for the group.
If Blur were to actually record an album in a week’s time it would be the band’s first since 2003’s Think Tank. Blur had penned two new tracks - “Under the Westway” and “The Puritan” - for their big Hyde Park show during the summer Olympics, but have since gone back and forth about whether new recordings were planned.
Down below you can watch video of Albarn remarks during the concert.
