Bret McKenzie Teases About Possible Flight of the Conchords Movie
Plus: Watch Him Sing With Kermit the Frog
Nov 29, 2011
The Muppets
Fans of TV and music funnymen Flight of the Conchords may be in for a treat. Keyword: may. At the recent premiere of The Muppets film—on which member Bret McKenzie serviced as music supervisor—the Kiwi-funnyman slyly mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter, “We’re gonna try and do a movie. We just need a story.”
“I’m gonna go back to New Zealand tomorrow, maybe film it next week. And then edit it the week after,” McKenzie jokingly added. “I don’t know how familiar you are with movies, but there’s a lot of behind the scenes stuff that could take one or two weeks. Probably in about a month we’ll have a premiere.”
Here’s hoping it’s not in the distant future. (Like perhaps the year 2000?)
Watch McKenzie joke about the possibility of a movie below. While you’re waiting for more information to surface about the film, check out the other clip below from The New York Times where McKenzie duets with none other than Kermit the Frog.
