Brian Eno Shares New Protest Song “Everything’s on the Up with the Tories” Ahead of UK Election
British Readers: Vote This Thursday
Dec 09, 2019
Brian Eno
Brian Eno mainly makes ambient instrumental music these days, but now he has shared a brand new protest song with vocals: “Everything’s on the Up with the Tories.” The importance of this week’s UK general election was enough to get Eno back to the mic. The song is a satirical swipe at Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s ruling Conservative Party (aka The Tories), including how they have messed up Brexit and done the NHS (National Health Service) no favors. Eno has previously come out in support of Johnson’s opponent, Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, who is much more left-leaning than Johnson. Check out the upbeat, almost silly sounding, protest song below and if you’re based in the UK then don’t forget to vote this Thursday. All proceeds from the song are being donated to the homeless.
