Bright Eyes Get Back on the Road
Conor Oberst and Co. Announce Dates for Spring 2011 Tour
Dec 14, 2010 Monsters of Folk
It was a sad day in 2009 when Conor Oberst, the emotionally in-tune songwriting prodigy behind folk-rock outfit Bright Eyes, announced in a Rolling Stone interview that he planned to make one last album with the band, presumably to focus on his newest endeavors—Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band and supergroup Monsters of Folk. That final album, The People’s Key, is slated to end the Bright Eyes chapter of Oberst’s career on February 15th.
However, all is not lost in the finality: Bright Eyes announced today the dates and venues of their spring 2011 tour, which marks the band’s first full run of U.S. shows in over three years. Commencing in March at the Fillmore Miami Beach, the tour includes Bright Eyes’ staples Oberst, Mike Mogis, and Nathaniel Walcott, as well as an array of other musicians, forming a 7-piece all together. Superchunk and all-riot-grrrl outfit Wild Flag will be joining Bright Eyes at the two Radio City Music Hall performances.
Pre-sale for select shows begins Wednesday, December 15th, while public sales start Friday, December 17th.
