Broadcast and Focus Group’s Mini-Album Out Now
Fourth Album Slated For 2010
Sep 22, 2009
Broadcast
In our previous news article about Broadcast‘s upcoming North American jaunt with Atlas Sound, we mentioned an EP was in the works from the British electronic pop duo. Details on that EP, or “mini-album” as the band is calling it, have arrived. You can buy Broadcast & The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age at Bleep or iTunes right now. It’s getting a proper physical release on CD and LP October 26th in the U.K. and October 27th in the U.S., via Warp. If you really can’t wait, sample its lilting psych-pop with a five-minute teaser by right-clicking this.
The release is 48 minutes and contains 23 tracks. (Sounds like a “mini album” to us.) The titular Focus Group in the title refers to Julian House, aka the artist who designs Broadcast’s album covers. He helps churn up some library music mischief as well. According to a press release, Broadcast also will drop a non-mini album next year. Warp has more information on this release, including two embedded previews.
