Cage The Elephant released a new album, Social Cues, which is their fifth, last month via RCA. Previously we posted the album’s “Night Running,” which is a collaboration with Beck and was one of our Songs of the Week. Now they have shared a video for the song. Jennifer Juniper Stratford directed the clip, which features both Beck and Cage The Elephant in a simulated world of sorts. Watch it below, followed by both artists’ joint co-headlining tour dates.

“For ‘Night Running,’ I wanted to create a realm where a super computer that hosts a simulation program creates a series artificial world. While Beck would appear to live within the software as a master control, Matt [Ray Shultz] would be transported to different worlds and new identities leaving him to question what is real.”

John Hill (Santigold, Florence + The Machine, Portugal. The Man, tUnE-yArDs), produced the album, which was recorded at Battle Tapes Recording, Blackbird Studio, and Sound Emporium in Nashville and The Village Recording Studio in Los Angeles. Tom Elmhirst mixed it and Randy Merrill mastered it.

In April Cage The Elephant stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform the album’s “Ready to Let Go” and you can watch that performance here.

Also, as previously announced, Beck and Cage The Elephant are going on a co-headlining tour this summer, dubbed “The Night Running Tour.” The tour will feature support from Spoon. Other support acts include Sunflower Bean, Wild Belle, and Starcrawler. They have partnered up with PLUS1, in which “$1 from every ticket sold will be donated back into each city they are playing in, supporting local food security initiatives as they work towards ending hunger in their communities.”

In April Beck shared a brand new song, “Saw Lightning.” A press release said it was the first single from an upcoming new album, Hyperspace, which will be released “at an as yet undetermined point in the space time continuum” via Capitol Records. Beck co-wrote the song with Pharrell Williams, who also “contributes drums, keyboards, and mumbles.”
