Charly Bliss released a new album, Young Enough, back in May via Barsuk. It was our Album of the Week and you can stream it here. Now they have surprise released a new EP, Supermoon, featuring five new songs recorded during the sessions for Young Enough. Stream it below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates. Above is the EP’s cover art.

Charly Bliss’ Eva Hendricks had this to say about the EP in a press release: “Making Young Enough was the most fulfilling creative experience I’ve had thus far. Not only because I’m proud of the songs that ended up on the record, but also because I’m proud of myself and my bandmates for putting in an obsessive amount of work into making sure the album would be the best it could be. We wrote too many songs and slowly whittled it down to the ones that told the most vivid and concise story. We’re so excited to release the Supermoon EP, a small collection of songs that helped us get there. We recorded them at the same time as the rest of the record, before we knew which songs would make it on. I think they fill in the cracks and enhance the narrative of Young Enough and show you how we got where we were going. Enjoy!!”

Previously Charly Bliss shared a video for Young Enough‘s first single, “Capacity,” which was one of our Songs of the Week (and the video was directed by Michelle Zauner aka Japanese Breakfast). Then they shared another new song from the album, “Chatroom,” also via a video for it. Maegan Houang directed the twisted clip, which starred frontwoman Eva Hendricks as the member of a cult. “Chatroom” was also one of our Songs of the Week. Then they shared another new song from the album, “Hard to Believe,” via a video for it (it also made our Songs of the Week list). Once the album was released album track “Blown to Bits” also made our Songs of the Week list. Then they shared a video for “Young Enough.” Then they performed three songs for NPR Music as part of their Tiny Desk Concert series and were accompanied by a string section.
