Check Out Weird Al’s Hilarious New Videos Spoofing Iggy Azalea, Pharrell, Robin Thicke, and Lorde
Mandatory Fun Out Now
Jul 17, 2014 Weird Al Yankovic
In case you’ve been away from the internet all week, “Weird Al” Yankovic has released a new video every day from his new, and reportedly final, full-length LP Mandatory Fun. Yankovic plans to release a new video every day for the next eight days. So far, each video has gone viral. “Word Crimes,” the English major riff on Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” has already exceeded four million views on YouTube.
Yankovic says he may retire the concept of releasing full length albums after Mandatory Fun, and instead focus on releasing independent singles in order to keep the parodies fresh. He may be onto something. These videos have been more successful in just a few days than any of his recent work, proving that his art was made for social media. Check out the videos below, and you can even stream Mandatory Fun over on Spotify.
