Johnny Jewel and his band Chromatics are expected to release a new full-length album entitled Dear Tommy sometime this year, although no official release date has been announced yet. Now they have shared another song from it, “Shadow,” via the Adult Swim Singles program. It’s the first song of side 4 of Dear Tommy.

In a press release Jewel had this to say about the song: “Everyone has a shadow. There is no real difference between 10 years ago and 10 seconds ago. Your future determines your past. The flame of nostalgia is a tempting black hole to jump into, but I recognize it as a fantasy. Romance is brave. So is simplicity. Love is a call to war. Why wouldn’t you want to respect music? Dear Tommy is the most rebellious record I’ve made.”

Upcoming Adult Swim Singles include tracks from Run the Jewels and Flying Lotus. Dear Tommy is the follow up to Chromatics’ widely acclaimed 2012 album Kill For Love. Last week we heard 30 seconds of the band’s cover of Cyndi Lauper’s 1980s classic “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” which soundtracked a new fashion ad for MANGO’s fall/winter 2015 line that features supermodels Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne.

Check out “Shadow” below (the song is also downloadable).
