Committed Bernie Sanders Supporter, Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste, Now Firmly Supports Hillary Clinton
"She is GOD compared to this Donald mess."

Bernie Sanders
It’s no secret that in the Democratic presidential primary elections many indie rock musicians strongly supported Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton. One of Sanders’ more eager and public supporters in the music community was Grizzly Bear’s Ed Droste. He campaigned for Sanders at Columbia University and NYU and the band performed at one of Sanders’ rallies in Brooklyn. Some Sanders supporters have had a difficult time shifting their allegiance over to Clinton, but in the wake of various scandals involving Republican candidate Donald Trump and last night’s second presidential debate between Clinton and Trump, Droste has taken to Instagram to make it clear he now fully backs Clinton.
The post featured a screenshot of Trump at the debate, who Droste called “disgusting,” adding: “If I need to spell it out for you, you aren’t paying attention.” Droste praised Clinton’s debate performance (“I could never demonstrate the grace and restraint that @hillaryclinton displayed tonight against this racist, homophobic, misogynistic, xenophobic hate monger.”) His post concludes with: “I don’t love everything about her, but she is strong and she is right now, in our current situation, what we need. If you choose trump, or frankly third party (of which I wish we had more viable options) you are essentially enabling the dismantling of rights and oppression of all POC, LGBTQ people and WOMEN, and that is NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME.” At the very end he also calls out Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump: “I know you follow me, how can you defend this?” Check out the full post below.
