Cursive
Cursive released a new album, Vitriola, last October via the band’s own label, 15 Passenger. Now the band have shared a video for “Pick Up the Pieces.” Frontman Tim Kasher directed the clip, which in a press release he says “works as a foil to the more cynical song.” Watch it below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates.
Previously they shared Vitriola‘s first three singles, “Life Savings,” “Under the Rainbow,” and “It’s Gonna Hurt.”
Vitriola is the band’s first new album in six years, since 2012’s I Am Gemini. Tim Kasher still fronts the band and the new album finds him joined by returning founding drummer Clint Schnase, touring member Megan Siebe (who is the first cellist to appear on a Cursive record since 2003), longtime guitarist/singer Ted Stevens, founding bassist Matt Maginn, and keyboardist Patrick Newbery (a member since 2006).
Kasher previously had this to say to NPR about Vitriola: “I was really wanting to go back to that raw emotional feeling that I used to get, how I wrote the first couple Cursive records when I was a younger man. I would suggest that that was a little bit easier this time, with so much avarice and bile that we were all experiencing. [It] felt natural for me to just go with that.”
