Daft Punk To Play “Colbert Report”
Appearing on Aug. 6
Aug 02, 2013
Daft Punk
Earlier this week, Stephen Colbert made an out-of-nowhere appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, dancing onto the set while Daft Punk‘s summer hit “Get Lucky” played through the studio. Getting Fallon to engage in a little dancing of his own, Colbert disappeared as quickly as arrived without so much as an explanation. According to The Huffington Post the random stunt was used to announce a now confirmed appearance by the robots on The Colbert Report next week on Aug. 6.
Rarely seen in public since the release of their return album Random Access Memories, Daft Punk’s appearance on the show is but a part of Colbert’s next Colbchella concert week.
It remains to be seen whether Colbert will interview members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, or whether they will be simply performing (which they haven’t done live since 2007).
Click below to watch Colbert and Fallon dance to “Get Lucky” around the seven-minute mark.
