DC Comics Female Team-Up Movie Featuring Harley Quinn, Batgirl, and Birds of Prey in the Works
Margot Robbie to Reprise Her Role as Harley Quinn and Also Produce
May 16, 2016 DC Comics
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Margot Robbie, Warner Bros., and DC Comics are developing a new female-fronted superhero team movie to feature Harley Quinn (a character Robbie plays in this summer’s Suicide Squad movie), Batgirl, and Birds of Prey. Birds of Prey is an all-female team that has featured various DC heroes (and villains), including Batgirl, Black Canary, Katana, Poison Ivy, Huntress, Starling, and others.
Robbie has been digging deep into the DC Comics catalogue ever since landing the Harley Quinn part and she pitched the idea to Warner Bros., has even suggested a writer (who hasn’t been named), and will be a producer on the movie. It’s not exactly certain yet which characters are involved, beyond Harley Quinn (who is, at one point, The Joker’s girlfriend and a nemesis for Batman, but is also sometimes more of a hero).
There is definitely a need for more female-fronted superhero movies, in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC’s movie universe since Man of Steel, not a single female superhero centric movie has been released, although a Wonder Woman movie is due next summer and Marvel has a Captain Marvel movie scheduled for 2019 and have recently said a Black Widow movie is still possible. Previous female superhero movies haven’t been all that good, such as Elektra and Catwoman, but on the small screen the recent Supergirl TV series has been well-received by critics and some fans (although next season it is moving from CBS to the smaller sister network CW).
Suicide Squad is due out August 5 and features a team of villains (including Jared Leto as The Joker and Will Smith as Deadshot) recruited to fight a greater evil. Below is a trailer for Suicide Squad.

i have seen so many DC comics where most of super heroes are man but Harley Quinn is the first lady who throw her impact to the audience and acknowledge the girls power against bad enemies either she was also a negative character but she did it very well and show that she has a heart for people so my love is for Harley
