Death From Above 1979 Announce New Album “The Physical World”
First Album since 2004 Debut
Jun 11, 2014 Death From Above 1979
As revealed in an interview with NME, Death From Above 1979 is grudgingly making a follow-up to their one album, 2004’s You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine.
“No matter what Jesse and I do, on whatever scale of success it’s sat on, there’s always some kind of reference to Death From Above,” singer/drummer Sebastian Grainger told the magazine. “It’s only frustrating because it’s so lazy. So we’re putting out a Death From Above record and if the press is like, ‘It’s not what we expected,’ or however they react to it, it’s like, ‘Well, you’ve been fucking asking for it’… This record is a key for us. It will permit us to go play the shows we want to play and it gives us the freedom to do what we want.”
So there you have it. The band’s new album The Physical World will see the light of day this September. But abandon hope, all ye hoping for You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine part two.
