Doctor Who Premiere Date Announced and New Teaser Debuts

A New Season and a New Doctor Comes to BBC America August 23

BBC America has announced that the new season of Doctor Who, its eighth since returning in 2005, will premiere on August 23. They have also released a new short 15-second teaser trailer.

This is the first season to feature Peter Capaldi as the time and space traveling Tim Lord, The Doctor, who has taken over from Matt Smith who departed the show last Christmas. The first episode is described as “feature-length,” is entitled “Deep Breath,” and will air at 8:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, August 23. “Am I a good man?” The Doctor asks his companion Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman), as he adjusts to his new body and personality.
