Following months of speculation following the departure of actor Matt Smith, long-running television series Doctor Who will announce the identity of the next Doctor this Sunday. The reveal will air live on a half-hour special called Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor at 2 p.m. EST on BBC America.

Producer and showrunner Steven Moffat issued a statement saying, “The decision is made and the time has come to reveal who’s taking over the TARDIS. For the last of the Time Lords, the clock is striking twelve.”

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Doctor Who will air a television movie about the first Doctor titled An Adventure in Space and Time starring David Bradley this fall, as well as anticipated special that sees Matt Smith reuniting with prior incarnations of the Doctor, including David Tennant.
