East India Youth (aka London-based electronic musician and singer William Doyle) released a fantastic sophomore album, Culture of Volume, earlier this year on XL. It made it on our Top 100 Albums of 2015 list and was well received in his native U.K., but the album has been a bit underappreciated by U.S. critics and listeners. Now East India Youth has digitally released a new remix EP. It features three remixes of Culture of Volume tracks. Both Blanck Mass and Yosi Horikawa take on “Manner of Words” and then there’s the Truss Total XTC mix of “Montage Resolution.” The EP can be streamed below via Spotify or go here to download.

“Montage Resolution (Truss Total XTC Mix)” can also be streamed separately below via YouTube. Doyle issued a statement about this remix: “I’ve seen Tom Russell aka Truss (and his regular sparring partner Perc) more than any other techno DJ since I moved to London, and it’s hard to think of a more consistently transcendent - and at times brutal - club experience. Nights at Corsica Studios in Elephant & Castle have been a very important and influential thing for me socially and artistically, and under his MPIA3 moniker, Tom’s RA mix was often my ‘getting pumped’ music before heading off to some landmark raves. While his remix of ‘Montage Resolution’ is a little more subdued, the swing and pace is everything I’ve come to love and respect in Tom’s work.”
