EL VY (the project of The National’s frontman Matt Berninger and former Menomena member Brent Knopf, who also records as Ramona Falls) released their excellent debut album, Return to the Moon, last October via 4AD. They have already shared several videos for the album and now they have just put out two more, for “Sad Case/Happiness, Missouri” and “It’s a Game.” Watch them both below.
The “Sad Case/Happiness, Missouri” video was filmed by Michael Brown and Ben Krall and edited by Kelly Lyon. It features black & white CCTV type footage.
As with most of EL VY’s videos thus far, Matt’s brother Tom Berninger directed the “It’s a Game” video. It features time lapse footage of his artwork and is labeled NSFW (because of the some of the artwork images).
Previously EL VY had shared lyric videos for “Return to the Moon (Political Song for Didi Bloome to Sing, With Crescendo),” “I’m the Man to Be,” “Paul Is Alive,” “Silent Ivy Hotel,” “Need a Friend,” and “No Time to Crank the Sun.”
Make sure to read our review of Return to the Moon and our recent cover story article on EL VY, as well as our 2015 Artist Survey interview with the duo.
