Elbow may have released their The Take Off and Landing of Everything full-length album last year, and just released a new four-song EP entitled Lost Worker Bee, but the band is still keeping busy with other projects. In an interview with the British radio station XFM this week, frontman Guy Garvey said that he’d just put the finishing touches on a new solo album and that it’s due for release in October. No further details on the album were revealed.
Garvey also said Elbow’s Mark Potter has formed a blues band and Elbow’s Craig Potter has produced the new solo album by ex-Beta Band frontman Steve Mason. He also said that Elbow would like to do more soundtrack work after recently writing a new song, “What Time Do You Call This?,” for the soundtrack to the Simon Pegg/Lake Bell romantic comedy Man Up.
