Eric Bachmann (of Archers of Loaf and Crooked Fingers) released a new solo album, No Recover, earlier this month via Merge. Now he has shared a video for one of the album’s advance singles, “Jaded Lover, Shady Drifter.” Bachmann self-directed the video, which superimposes blue-tinted footage of Bachmann singing the song on top of footage of driving down a highway at night. Bachmann had this to say about the video in a press release: “I shot this video while driving through Western Canada during my last tour, and edited it late at night in cheap hotels, campgrounds, and shady Walmart parking lots. Always in the back of a goddamn van. Get in the goddamn van, Rock n Roll Man! Get in the goddamn van!”

In a previous press release Bachmann said it’s a song “about love surviving the impending apocalypse…. I want it to be a positive force.”
